DO I NEED PAINT CORRECTION?

Best car detailing Dallas, TX

While no one truly needs anything for their car other than working mechanics, it is important to understand what paint correcting your vehicle can do for it's appearance and integrity of the paintwork. Paint correction also lays the foundation for a strong chemical bond with ceramic coatings.

Restoration of Paint
Paint correction involves the meticulous removal of surface imperfections by cutting down a small fraction of clear coat to restore the paintwork to it's original or better-than-new condition. This process demands time and skilled technicians using professional-grade tools, compounds, and polishing techniques to achieve exceptional results.

Swirl Mark Removal
Swirl marks are fine scratches on the paint surface caused by improper washing techniques, automated car washes, or general wear and tear. They're present on almost every vehicle, and it is not uncommon to see them on brand new vehicles from the showroom as well. Paint correction effectively eliminates swirl marks, resulting in a smooth and flawless finish that greatly enhances the overall appearance of the vehicle.

Scratch Removal
Surface scratches and scuffs can take away from the beauty of your vehicle's paint job. Paint correction involves carefully leveling the surrounding paint layers to diminish or completely remove scratches, restoring your paint's clarity and depth. (Please keep in mind that this does not apply to scratches that have dug beyond the clear coat)

Water Spot Removal
Water spots, often caused by mineral deposits left behind after water evaporates, can etch into the paint surface and create unsightly marks that cannot be removed with a traditional wash. This is commonly seen with vehicles that park near sprinkler systems. Paint correction techniques are employed to safely remove water spots and restore the affected areas to their original condition.

Deep Cleaning and Polishing
As part of the paint correction process, the paint surface undergoes thorough cleaning to remove contaminants and prepare it for polishing. Professional-grade polishing compounds are then applied to refine the paintwork, removing micro-defects and enhancing gloss and clarity.

Customized Treatment
Each vehicle may require a customized paint correction treatment based on specific condition and the desired outcome. No two paint finishes are the same, and paint correction is not a one-size-fits-all service. We will assess the paintwork carefully to determine the most appropriate techniques and products to achieve optimal results.

Protection and Maintenance
Following paint correction, it is essential to protect the newly restored paintwork to maintain it's appearance over time. This may involve the application of a Ceramic Coating or Wax/Sealant to provide long lasting protection against environmental factors and facilitate easier maintenance.

OUR PROCESS

Best car detailing Dallas, TX

In 5 Easy Steps

1.) FOAM WASH
We begin our process by giving your vehicle an extremely comprehensive car wash with the goal of knocking off as much grime and embedded dirt as possible. This is done using our foam wash method and utilizing APC cleaners to remove old sealants and 90% of surface dirt.

2.) REMOVE IRON PARTICLES

We remove iron particles from your paint work to additionally prep the surface through chemical decontamination.

3.) CLAY BAR
Clay barring your vehicle's paint work is a very important step as it removes embedded debris that the foam wash is not able to tackle. This can include debris such as tree sap, industrial debris from Dallas construction, and every day road grime that sticks to your clear coat. Clay barring brings a "smooth as glass" finish to the paintwork to prep for compounding and polish.

4.) COMPOUND
Depending on the severity of your paint and desired paint correction package, compounding may be needed to cut down deeper into the clear coat and level the finish down to the bottom of the swirl marks. Compounding will remove the majority of deep swirls and does the majority of the work toward leveling your clear coat. This provides a flat level surface to work with before the finishing polish.

5.) FINISHING POLISH
While compounding will remove 90% of swirl marks and surface imperfections, it will not leave you with a perfect finish. In order to achieve the remaining 10%, we follow the compound with a fine finishing polish. This will expose the deep rich reflection of your vehicle's paintwork. Once this step is complete, you will have one of the glossiest and picture perfect cars in all of Dallas!

PAINT CORRECTION FAQ'S

Best car detailing Dallas, TX

How much should a paint correction cost?

The cost of paint correction in Dallas varies depending on factors such as the size of the vehicle, the condition of the paint and the level of paint correction needed. You can expect to pay between $450 and $1,100+ for paint correction services in Dallas. While we understand the importance of transparency and value for our customers, it's challenging to provide a one-size-fits-all pricing structure for paint correction without assessing the individual requirements of your vehicle. Paint correction is a very time consuming service, meaning the price of correction will ultimately come down to condition and how much labor and time will need to be spent meticulously going over each body panel. Our experienced team will assess your needs and flaws of your paint to provide a customized quote.

Is paint correction worth it?

Absolutely, paint correction is well worth the investment for discerning car owners in Dallas seeking to restore their vehicle's paint to its original, pristine condition. Here's why:

Enhanced Aesthetics: Paint correction removes imperfections such as swirl marks, scratches, water spots, and oxidation, restoring the depth and clarity of your vehicle's paint. This revitalization results in a breathtaking finish that enhances the overall aesthetics of your car, making it look as good as new.

- Increased Resale Value: A well-maintained exterior significantly boosts the resale value of your vehicle. By investing in paint correction, you're not only preserving the integrity of your car's paint but also safeguarding its long-term value. Prospective buyers are often willing to pay a premium for a meticulously maintained vehicle with flawless paint.

Protection Against Further Damage: Beyond cosmetic benefits, paint correction serves as a proactive measure to protect your vehicle's paint from future damage. By eliminating surface imperfections, you create a smooth, uniform surface that is less susceptible to environmental contaminants, UV rays, and other harmful elements.

How long does paint correction last?

The longevity of paint correction largely depends on how well the vehicle is maintained afterward. While paint correction can provide significant and long-lasting improvements to your vehicle's appearance, it's essential to understand that ongoing maintenance plays a crucial role in preserving the results over time. When performed by skilled professionals like us, paint correction can last for several months to even years, provided proper care is taken. However, it's important to note that the exterior of your vehicle is constantly exposed to a myriad of elements, such as UV rays, road debris, pollutants, and inclement weather, which can gradually degrade the paint finish. By incorporating proper maintenance practices such as regular washing use of quality products, applying paint protection (ceramic coatings, sealants, wax, etc...), and avoiding abrasive materials, you can extend the lifespan of paint correction and keep your vehicle looking pristine for years to come.

Is ceramic coating necessary after paint correction?

While ceramic coating is not strictly necessary after paint correction, a coating or a sealant is highly recommended to maximize and preserve the pristine finish achieved through the correction process. Coatings and sealants will preserve the new surface by adding an additional layer of protection for your vehicle's paint, shielding it from Dallas's harsh environmental conditions. Protecting the new finish will absolutely increase the longevity of the finish.

What is the difference between Level 1 and Level 2 paint correction?

Level 1 and Level 2 paint correction (often referred to as Stage 1 and Stage 2), is the difference in between compounding and finishing polish.

Level 1 (fine polishing) is designed to address minor imperfections and enhance the overall appearance of your vehicle's paint. This level of correction is ideal for vehicles with relatively good paint condition but minor defects such as light swirl marks, fine scratches, and minor oxidation. Level 1 paint correction typically involves fewer steps and less intensive polishing compared to Level 2, making it a more cost-effective option for maintaining your vehicle's appearance.

Level 2 (compound + fine polishing) is a more comprehensive and intensive process designed to address moderate to severe paint defects and restore heavily damaged paint surfaces. This level of correction is suitable for vehicles with deeper scratches, heavy swirl marks, water spots, oxidation, and other significant imperfections that require more extensive correction. While Level 2 paint correction requires more time and expertise compared to Level 1, the results are transformative, delivering a showroom-quality finish that exceeds expectations.
